Our relationship with self is the most important relationship we will ever have. There are many factors that contribute to how we feel about ourselves. Early experiences in childhood inform the messages and patterns that are ingrained into our psyches and often those messages become outdated and maladaptive as we grow into adults. This course is a brief look at how we feel about ourselves, what are some of the messages/thoughts/beliefs that we continue to tell ourselves that don’t serve our highest good and are frankly unkind, where the messages came from, and how to meet ourselves with compassion to open up to more self-love.
Using mindfulness and the mind/body connection we will learn to understand ourselves in a deeper way . We will explore the messaging we receive through our thoughts, our emotions, and our bodies and begin unpacking the origin of those messages and whether or not they continue to serve us. We will then learn to counter or meet the pre-established messaging with attitudes of compassion and acceptance.
